For those of you who don't know, Sopranos actor and Hollywood star James Gandolfini died last week at the age of 51. Autopsy reports state that he died from a heart attack, although there is a lot of speculation about the lifestyle that he led and what may have caused the actual heart attack. However, there is also a lot of other news that's coming to light in the aftermath of Gandolfini's death. His former wife Marcy Gandolfini, in a bitter divorce battle, revealed that Gandolfini used to live a life full of ' mistresses, kinky sex, cocaine addiction, and drugs'. This was more than a decade ago, and it really doesn't seem as if Gandolfini slowed down his partying lifestyle one bit. Of course, at the time, Gandolfini blamed his wife's ' emotional instability ' and ' volatile temperament' as the cause for their marriage falling apart. Also, his rep had defended Gandolfini against the accusations from his former wife, saying that Gandolfini had faced problems with alcohol and drugs, but they were in the 'past'.
He won three Emmy Awards for his role on "The Sopranos. " After the show ended, Gandolfini appeared on Broadway and in the film "Zero Dark Thirty. " He also voiced the role of Carol in the film adaption of the children's book Where the Wild Things Are. When asked whether he was concerned about being stuck in the role of Tony Soprano in the minds of audiences for the rest of his life, Gandolfini said, "There are worse things to be associated with. James Gandolfini is one of those guys that – while I'm sure he can and generally is a very nice man – I'd definitely avoid should I run into him in real life. The line between television and reality is very blurry for a lot of those "Sopranos" actors, and many of them have rumored mob ties. And because I didn't watch the show more than handful of times, I can't really keep them straight, so I figure it's best to just steer clear altogether. And there's just something about Gandolfini that says, "Eyy, I'm a nice guy, but you piss me off just by having an ugly face and I'm gonna break your jaw. " Excellent example of why I'm always right: an amateur photographer for the website Guest of a Guest got into it with James, after the guy filmed him for too long on Halloween. Gandolfini cursed at him repeatedly, then smacked his camera to the ground. Naturally, the whole thing ended up on the interweb. I've said it once and I'll say it again…I wouldn't wish celebrity fame on my worst enemy.
Before his untimely death at the age of 51, Gandolfini was married to former model Lin for four years. In October, Lin gave birth to their daughter Liliana. The 44-year-old sex therapist told Inside Edition that she spoke with the married actor on the phone two weeks before he died of a heart attack. She adamantly insisted they were nothing more than good friends after reports surfaced that Gandolfini was still in love with her and begged for a reconciliation. "I got to congratulate him on his new baby girl and he sounded really good, " said Somoza during her emotional interview. "I'm glad to have the most recent memory of mine with him on something that sounded really positive. " Gandolfini met Lora in 2000 when she was an assistant to the director on the set of his film, "The Mexican. " They got engaged in 2003 but broke it off in 2005 after Somoza moved away to care for her grandmother, who was suffering from Alzheimers.
He also said that all the claims made by Gandolfini's former wife were, "ramblings of a disgruntled ex-wife apparently looking for a pay day. " Looking back on the past ten years, who do you think would have been right? It's unfortunate, especially because Gandolfini had a nine month baby daughter that will never grow up to know her father and young teenage son who is now fatherless. It's heartbreaking and upsetting, and I wish that it hadn't happened. However, in the light of all these reports and knowing about his lifestyle over the past couple of decades, does it really come as a surprise? I mean, you have people that manage to live this lifestyle and live until eighty, so of course, there's really no way of telling for sure. But when you look at the way James Gandolfini used to live, and for so long, you can't help but wonder. In 2005, as the landmark HBO series "The Sopranos" began shooting its final season, James Gandolfini talked to 60 Minutes' Bob Simon about playing the role of Tony Soprano. In an extended excerpt of that conversation (in the above video player), Gandolfini told Simon that it was the writing that made the show so successful. "I don't think I've ever said this to most of the writers 'cause I basically like to have a slightly adversarial -- Is that the word? -- relationship with them, but I think they're unbelievable, " said Gandolfini. "I sit there and read it and just go, 'Jesus Christ, it's so goddamn smart. '" When asked about the fate of his character in the final season of series, Gandolfini said he didn't know whether the show's writers planned to kill his character -- but that he was OK with whatever fate they had in store for him. "If it's time to go, it's time to go. Have a party and move on, " said Gandolfini of his role. "I had a good run, man. I'm fine. I had a good run. " Gandolfini died yesterday at the age of 51 while vacationing in Italy with his family.

I was walking up Jane Street towards the parade route, when I saw James trick or treating with his son and some other people. I decided to shoot some video of him, his son was inside a botique trick or treating, jim was standing outside. I was maybe 25 feet away from him when he saw me. he then rushed towards me and pushed me into the street, then he took a swing at me and knocked the camera down. The person yelling get away from my son, was not my mom, but james ex-wife telling me to get away from her son.
