Yea, I feel pending on the circumstance (job type) they seemingly don't want anybody who is too confident. Reason being is because they look for a puppet, a pushover. Take that as a compliment to you b/c you are worth more than that. I have learned that the hard way myself. After I interview and I KNOW I did a good interview and they do not hire me, I go back and look at what I did and the company and their industry standards. If it doesn't take much to land a job with them, that means I am destined for higher. Not to sound like I am better than the word but you are the only person who is going to know their true self worth. You can be humble and confident. For example, I have a college degree, ALOT of job experience, etc... I do appreciate the experience I have gotten from previous employers but I am confident in my skills. It is up to the employer to embrace that. Have you ever thought of employment opportunities abroad? These companies in the U. S. can be a pain in the rectum. They seem to appreciate hard working, ambitious employees there.
